Beneteau Launches Swift Trawler 44

St. Barts Yachts is a Power Boat Dealer! Call us for more information!

Annapolis, MD, NOVEMVER 2 2010: With all the attributes that made the Swift Trawler range the benchmark for couples or families who are passionate about boating, the new Swift Trawler 44 turns comfort into a way of life.

SWIFT TRAWLER: A COMPLETE RANGE TO EXTEND YOUR HORIZONS
With the launch of the Swift Trawler 44, Beneteau marks the renewal of this range, whose ‘voyage’ style has enjoyed great success. As a replacement for the Swift Trawler 42, the Swift Trawler 44 completes a range of boats from 34 to 52 feet.
The Swift Trawler 44 provides ideal conditions for cruising and living on board – whether as a couple, a family or a group of friends. The new dimensions and intelligent layout promise for some unforgettable voyages.
Acclaimed Performance
The Swift Trawler’s well-proven hull provides an unfailing stability. Its optimized performance combines speed with consumption control. The 2 x 300 hp engines allow for a cruising speed of 18 knots (top speed of more than 24 knots).
Enlarged interior
Designed for life on board, the Swift Trawler 44 offers a spacious and functional interior. The new asymmetric deck is more than 16 inches wider than that of the Swift Trawler 42. The wheelhouse area has been entirely redesigned and is 3 feet longer, made possible by modifying the angle of the forward windows.
Redistribution of space
The forward cabin is impressive with its combination of comfort and light provided through two large portholes. The guest cabin, to port, is now provided with a large double berth. To starboard are the 2 head compartments, larger and updated to fit the on-board living lifestyle.
The saloon is convertible into a double cabin, equipped with a dividing curtain. The U-shaped galley has plenty of space for storage. Additionally, the wheelhouse has been upgraded for optimum navigation with a new design and new surface finish, which cuts out windscreen reflections.
HULL DEVELOPMENTS
Uninterrupted views and maximum light – the addition of large fixed ports in the hull gives a sense of harmony while generous portholes help ventilate and brighten the interior.
On deck, the bathing platform aft has been lengthened and benefits from the same bathing ladder as the Swift Trawler 52, which is particularly ergonomic.
A semi-recessed staircase leads from the spacious cockpit to the flybridge. There is room in the cockpit for an L-shaped bench seat to provide shelter for mealtime.
Now three feet longer, the flybridge can comfortably accommodate two pilot seats at the helm station and a large instrument panel.
Priority has been given to the enlarged saloon, which has a built-in sofa to starboard with multiple storage compartments.
Finally, the loading mast and boom system includes an electric winch for hoisting the tender effortlessly.
The Swift Trawler 44 will make its first appearance at the Paris boat show this December. It is scheduled to make its North-American debut at the Miami International Boat Show, February 17th through 21st.
Beneteau USA, the American division of the world’s largest sailboat manufacturer, builds hundreds of 31-50 foot production sailboats in Marion, SC and imports sailing and power yachts up to 58 feet in length from its parent company in France.

Beneteau WOWS Crowds at Annapolis Boat Show!

Photo credit: Annapolis Yacht Sales at the Annapolis Boat Show

Annapolis, Md October 11, 2010: While hundreds looked on under gorgeous Indian summer skies at the United States Sailboat Show, Beneteau demonstrated its revolutionary Dock & Go joystick maneuvering system aboard a brand new concept in live aboard sailing yachts, the SENSE 50 footer. Operating in just a 60’ by 60’ square, Garth Hichens’ team at Annapolis Yacht Sales has proven that with this new innovation a child can easily move a 50 foot sailboat side to side, quickly rotate it 360 degrees or slide it in any direction to make docking stress free. Every two hours as the Dock & Go demonstration concluded, the appreciative crowd erupted into applause at the wonder of this exclusive development from Groupe Beneteau. The Dock & Go is available on Beneteau 46 and 50 foot models equipped with 76 HP engines

The SENSE range, soon include a 42, has also garnered note as being a truly new concept in yacht design. Unique hull form mated with an amazing combination of on deck and interior livability have already cemented the launch of this series of boats which offer the feeling of living in the open, both in the cockpit and down below. “The public loves the SENSE. And we have already received several orders for it from the target clientele which was to bring new people into sailing. In fact one of the orders received at Annapolis is from a couple who have never owned a boat before! ”, exclaimed Mike Lecholop, Vice President of Sales. Lecholop revealed that with one day left to go, Beneteau USA is about 25% ahead on the value of contracts written last year at the Annapolis sailboat show.

In addition to multiple sales of the SENSE, Beneteau dealers have already enjoyed improved sales on the full range of yachts, whether built in Marion, SC or imported from France. “This is the best show in years. Not only has the weather brought out all the sailing public, but the buyers are here again. I worry that on some models, such as the new Oceanis 50, we may run out of available spring deliveries, if we don’t get the orders in soon. That’s actually a nice problem to have again.” remarked Glen Winter, owner of Winter’s Sailing Center in Riverside, NJ.

Beneteau also won two other accolades in the first days of the Annapolis show. Sail America awarded Beneteau the Best in Show trophy for the big boat display category for its unique “island” booth layout which allowed the Dock & Go and new models to be highlighted. Plus Wayne L. Burdick, President of Beneteau USA, received the SAIL magazine SAIL’S INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP AWARD for his decades of involvement in all aspects of sailing, from voluntary service in boating associations to leading the premier American sailboat builder.
