St. Barts Yachts is new Greenline dealer

St. Barts Yachts is proud to be named the new dealer for Greenline Yacht Sales in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. 

The company will represent Seaway’s line of hybrid yachts in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. The models include the Greenline33, 40 and 48. 

Greenline Yachts are powered by a diesel/electric drive system. Lithium polymer batteries are charged by a photovoltaic system located on the roof that converts sunlight into electricity while the boat is docked or at anchor. 

We have a 33 on order and we expect that she will be here by November. 

We are looking forward to working with the largest hybrid fleet of yachts in the world.

Beneteau Introduces 38 Footer You Design to Fit Your Lifestyle

Beneteau will reveal its newest concept in sailboat design when it launches the Oceanis 38 at the United States Sailboat Show, October 10-14, 2013 in Annapolis, MD.


“The Oceanis 38 offers a level of customization no other builder has ever offered before at this size. However, what is quite remarkable, and what makes the Oceanis 38 so innovative is the fact this boat can evolve with your changing needs over time. The boat should fit its owner, not the other way around,” says Beneteau America President Laurent Fabre.


The new Oceanis 38 can be a day sailer, weekender, or cruiser based on the owner’s needs and preferences.


The day sailer offers an open, loft-like space with clean lines and an uncluttered feel. A two-person berth is located far forward and the aft of the yacht is dedicated to storage.


The weekender features two and three-cabin layouts, which can remain open or enclosed based on privacy preferences. It can also include a separate shower, fitted galley and extra table in the salon and/or cockpit. The weekender offers the most flexibility allowing many interior components to be added to the yacht as the owner’s needs evolve over time.


The cruiser can have two or three fitted cabins, a large galley, mainsail arch, helmsman seats and swim platform. While more conventional, its owners can choose the layout configuration and some components based on personal inclination.


The Oceanis 38 features a continuous full-length chine and deep draft T-shaped keel, which has proven to enhance performance, increase stiffness and provide stability while reducing heel. Moreover, the yacht’s twin rudders make way for a more responsive helm.

St. Barts Yachts welcomes Barbara Burke to the Jacksonville office. A native of Atlanta, GA, Barbara is experienced in both lake sailing and open water, and has sailed the CAribbean to the extent that it is much quicker for her to ame the islands she hasn't visited than list the ones she has. She is an active member of the North Florida Cruising Club, sitting on their Board of Directors and serving as Editor for their monthly newsletter, "Windscoop". She is a past member of Rotary International and American Mesa and loves to cook and entertain. Barbara attributes her customer service succes to listening carefully, following up regularly and attending to details closely. With her passion for boating, and a background in real estate marketing, Barbara is a natural fit with the St. Barts Yachts team.

Swift Trawler 44 arrival for St. Barts Yachts Client

The Swift Trawler 44 arrived at the port of Norfolk from France. It was removed from the cradle and opened up, by removing the shrink wrap. The props were installed and the boat was splashed with the assistance of the crane.

Eddie Brown, of St. Barts Yachts, and Captain Geoff Gow prepared the boat for travel to Wilmington, NC for the commissioning and handover to the new owner. Our service department will be heading up from Charleston, to complete the commissioning order.

 And there they go...

A Galley Recipe: Sweet and Sour Apple Beets

Mr. and Mrs. Henry (center), owners of "Alvilda Mae", an Oceanis 41 offered to share a new favorite galley recipe this week. 

We can't wait to try it.

Sweet and Sour Apple Beets



Preheat oven to 375.
Grease a casserole dish..

Mix together and put into it:
   2 cups chopped cooked beets
   2 cups apples
   1/4 to 1/2 cup thinly sliced onions
   1 1/2 teaspoons salt
   A generous grating of nutmeg
 **Cook's note: If the apples are very tart, add: (1 tablespoon sugar) If they are bland: (2 tablespoons lemon juice)

Dot with 2 to 3 tablespoons butter
Cover and bake about one hour.

Cook's Note:

Sailing in the Charleston, SC area, enjoying the great crew at St Bart's Yachts, I've been experimenting with finding new recipes.  This was my first time to try this one.  I used it as a side dish with barbecued pork chops.  Of course I had to make some some changes, because I have  a very limited supply of spices on board, I had no nutmeg, and even though my apples were not tart I chose to add both sugar and juice from 1/4 of a lemon.  My husband and I thought it was a delicious dish. I'll definitely make this one again.
